Continuous Innovation Although the Killer NIC does make your gaming experience smoother and faster, it cannot end Lag all by itself. Bigfoot Networks is constantly innovating with new technologies designed to fight Lag wherever it exists. The future technologies shown here are just a few of the things that are being developed today in the labs of Bigfoot.

Attacking Game Lag Where it Lives
Game Lag is a system problem, with sources in the PC, network, and server. Bigfoot Networks is developing new technologies that will address lag and latency in all three of these areas.

Lag and Latency Reduction (LLR2)
The LLR2 SDK helps developers and middleware providers optimize their titles and technologies to existing Killer NPUs and the upcoming Game Server Accelerator. LLR2 contains simple Killer optimization code, as well as cool new tools like hardware-based packet compression and packet encryption to reduce network latency. Game developers are using the LLR2 SDK to make their games work better with Killer, and one of our partners, Emergent Game Technologies, is even integrating LLR2 support into their latest game engines to be used in hundreds of future game titles.

Game Server Accelerator (GSA) – Server-side optimization for Everybody
Our Game Server Accelerator puts Killer technology on the server side, for enhanced performance during heavy loads. Just like our client-side NPUs, the GSA gets networking out of the way of the game, allowing game servers to distribute the extra resources for smoother operation. MMO servers can have more concurrent players per zone without lag, while FPS game servers can have more combatants without sacrificing action.
